Valentines for Veterans
WPLD’s Valentines for Veterans campaign kicks off Tuesday, January 2nd.
Our goal for 2018 is 2540 valentines – one more than last year. In honor of the “National Salute to Veteran Patients Week”
Valentines for Veterans campaign that takes place every February we will be busy making handmade cards
for our beloved Veterans from Tuesday, January 2nd through Wednesday, February 7th.
They will then be mailed to Veteran Homes, Hospitals, and Clinics all across the state of Illinois.
WPLD supplies the card-making materials.
Please bring your family & friends in any time the library is open to make valentines.
You may also make valentines at home and bring them in.
We just ask for convenience of mailing that cards be no bigger than 4 ” x 6”.
We are hopeful that with your help we will be able to not only make our goal, but exceed it as we have done for the past nine years.
We want our Veterans to feel the love!

Be a Smart Cookie! Tuesdays
Every Tuesday from January 2 through February 27th you will receive a free cookie at WPLD when you check out a book.
You must check out books, not movies to receive your free cookie.
One cookie per Patron, per Tuesday, please.
District #210 Students must check out books before or after school to receive a free cookie.
WPLD wants you to “Be a Smart Cookie!”
