Valentines for Veterans Campaign 2017:

In honor of “National Salute to Veteran Patients Week” February 13-17, 2017,
WPLD will, for the 9th year in a row, become Valentines for Vets Central from January 3rd through February 4th.
Our goal this year is to make 2531 Valentines for Veterans – that’s ONE more handmade valentine than we made last year.
Please help us make our goal.
Stop by WPLD anytime we’re open & make valentines.
We provide the paper & supplies, however, we would greatly appreciate donations of card-making supplies, as well.
Valentines will be mailed to Veteran Homes & Hospitals throughout Illinois on Monday, February 6th. Thank you!

Be a Smart Cookie Tuesday:

WPLD wants you to be a smart cookie!
Every Tuesday January 3rd through Tuesday, February 28th, you will receive a free cookie when you check out a book from WPLD.
You must check out a book, not movies, to receive your cookie.
One cookie per Patron per day, please.

Color Me Happy Thursday:

Every Thursday from January 5th through Thursday, February 23rd,
plan to stop by WPLD anytime from 7:30am – 7:00pm to color your winter blues away!
This is a program for Adults only (18 & Up).
WPLD provides your coloring sheet & pencils.
Let us know if you are interested in forming a Coloring Group – the more the merrier!

Warm Up With a Good Book Friday:

WPLD will serve a free cup of soup Fridays in January in honor of National Soup Month.
Check out a book any Friday in January from 12:00-5:00pm & warm up with a cup of soup courtesy of your library!

No Reason to be Bored Board Game Saturday:

Make plans to meet your friends at WPLD on Saturdays from 9:00am – 12:00 noon from January 7th
through Saturday, February 25th for Board Game Saturdays.
WPLD has Legos and a variety of board games available for our Patrons to play.

Jigsaw Puzzle Table Challenge:

Stop by WPLD anytime during regular hours & see if you can add a few pieces to our ongoing Jigsaw puzzles,
set up in the WPLD Reading Area.
The Jigsaw Table will be set up from Tuesday, January 3rd through Tuesday, February 28th.
There’s snow reason to let cabin fever set in this winter –
bundle up & head for WPLD to enjoy our many winter activities!
